Featuring some of the most intimate footage of wild bears ever seen, this moving series follows Charlie Vandergaw, an extraordinary man who has been living a potentially lethal existence deep in the Alaskan wilderness for over 20 years. Charlie has developed a unique, but controversial, relationship with both black and grizzly bears and now, for the first time, he has allowed an entire season at “Bear Haven” to be filmed. British cameraman Richard Terry not only learns to get up close and personal to the world’s most dangerous predators, but in doing so captures attacks and intruders, as well as the Alaskan authorities clamping down on what may prove to Charlie’s last year as a “Stranger Among Bears”.
