When Nissan decided to return to the top tier of Le Mans racing, they did so in dramatic fashion: with a revolutionary yet untested prototype driven by a young team of GT Academy "gamers-turned-racers". They dominated the pre-race headlines. But how would they fare on the track against Audi, Porsche, and Toyota? We were invited to create a feature documentary capturing the entire audacious endeavour.
With unprecedented access, La Ronde Infernale explores the radical minds of the Nissan design team, and witnesses the toll that this ambitious and unprecedented project takes on the lives of those involved. It's a story of maverick engineering brilliance, ambition, teamwork and sheer bloody-mindedness. Most of all, it's a story about daring to be different in the full glare of the media spotlight.
