Sex Testers gets Supersized for E4

All 4 original series, The Sex Testers, is to be recommissioned as a new 6x60’ series for E4. The series was All 4’s most popular exclusive commission last summer and, following this success, it will return as a bigger, bolder proposition, covering a whole gamut of sexual worries and problems. The Sex Testers will no longer just be offering S.T.I. tests, but will combine all the practices of an NHS GUM clinic with those of a broader sexual advice service.

The team of seen-it-all, done-it-all sexual experts – Dr Verity Sullivan (Specialist Registrar in Genitourinary Medicine), Sarah Mulindwa (Senior Sexual Health Nurse Specialist) and Kevin Turner, (Sexual Health Adviser) – will be back to help whoever walks through the clinic doors, whatever their query, be it about breast reduction, bondage or any manner of worrying lumps and bumps. The clinic’s experienced team will also be supported by visiting experts, who will treat and advise on specialist problems and conditions, as the patients bare all at this one-stop sexual health clinic, where anything goes.

The Sex Testers was commissioned by Channel 4 Head of Formats Dom Bird and Formats commissioning editor Lee McMurray. The series will be produced by Firecracker Films, part of the Tinopolis Group, with executive producers Jes Wilkins and Sam Emmery.

Dom Bird said: “Following its success on All 4, we’re delighted to announce Sex Testers for E4 as a bolder and broader series that shines a light on the nation’s sexual health. Nothing will be off limits, at a clinic that will deliver crucial info, help and advice for visitors and viewers, with E4’s trademark wit, warmth and exuberance.”

Jes Wilkins added: “Sex Testers is exactly the kind of cocktail of mischievous factual entertainment with social purpose that we at Firecracker love to make. Our team have done a brilliant job to evolve this from online shorts to a very exciting long form proposition with the potential to be a returnable brand for E4.”
